The Blade Runner glass

In 1982, Ridley Scott’s visionary masterpiece Blade Runner came out. Throughout the movie, Harrison Ford, starring as Deckard, sips his Johnny Walker Black Label whiskey right from the double old fashioned glass designed by Cini Boeri for Arnolfo di Cambio: the original Blade Runner glass.

Cini Boeri

Cini Boeri (1924) is an influent Italian designer and architect whose works have been appreciated and awarded throughout the world. For Arnolfo di Cambio, in 1973, she designed the Cibi collection, a set of glasses among which the double old fashioned glass was chosen to became the Blade Runner glass.

Arnolfo di Cambio is a company specialized in the production of Italian handmade design crystalware. The firm was founded in 1963 in Colle Val d’Elsa, the heart of the traditional crystal district in Tuscany. Arnolfo di Cambio has treasured the heritage of traditional master glassblowers and combined it with technological innovation, investing right from the start in collaborating with renowned designers, as Ettore Sottsass and Michele De Lucchi, who contributed to establish the unmistakable style of the company.
