In 1982, Ridley Scott’s visionary masterpiece Blade Runner came out. Throughout the movie, Harrison Ford, starring as Deckard, sips his Johnny Walker Black Label whiskey right from the double old fashioned glass designed by Cini Boeri for Arnolfo di Cambio: the original Blade Runner glass.
Cini Boeri (1924) is an influent Italian designer and architect whose works have been appreciated and awarded throughout the world. For Arnolfo di Cambio, in 1973, she designed the Cibi collection, a set of glasses among which the double old fashioned glass was chosen to became the Blade Runner glass.
